Children to launch their Own pop‑up shop in Makinson Arcade

We’ve teamed up with Down to Earth, Wigan’s Creative People and Places project based at Groundwork, to bring an exciting half‑term initiative to the town centre.

Down to Earth work across the borough to get more people involved in creative activity, and this week they’ve brought ‘Kids Business’ to the Arcade. Led by artistic duo Hunt & Darton, children have been taking part in hands‑on workshops to dream up, design, and develop their very own pop‑up shop.

Throughout the week, the young creators have been pitching their ideas to shoppers, gathering feedback, and carrying out market research with the existing businesses inside the Arcade. Their final concept ‘Splat it’ will open as a real pop‑up on Saturday 28 February and Saturday 7 March here in Makinson Arcade.
